Meet the Dancers

Daniel and Gabriela

Daniel and Gabriela Bollich met five years ago at Randols the day after she moved from Guatemala. Ever since that initial cajun dance, which Gabriela danced with salsa steps due to her ignorance of the traditional Louisiana style, they've been enjoying dancing together.

Gabriela is a graduate student at UL. She's getting her master's in English with a focus in Creative Writing. She is the assistant director of the Writing Center, where she enjoys teaching Americans the finer points of their own language.

Daniel graduated in 2013 from UL with a degree in Political Science. He's currently applying to graduate schools in order to get a PhD in the same field. In the meantime, he manages a Waffle House. 

Aside from dancing, Daniel and Gabriela enjoy going on bike rides, playing with their one-year-old son, Julian, and a good cup of Guatemalan coffee from her family's farm.
